Children under 5 years old are not in a position to be assessed by a school teacher and therefore the Professional Nomination form may be completed by non-teaching professionals with experience and training in child development.
Children under 5 years old are not in a position to be assessed by a school teacher and therefore the Professional Nomination form may be completed by non-teaching professionals with experience and training in child development. These may include a doctor, a nurse, a nanny, a speech pathologist, an occupational therapist, a social worker, a family day care worker or a child care worker among others at the discretion of the Association. Psychological assessments are also acceptable but not mandatory. When these are undertaken earlier than 5 years old a good guide is provided, but the testing costs money and may need to be repeated. Please see the full website article on joining the Association for more information.
As always you are encouraged to submit your application (both Parent and Professional Nomination forms) on behalf of your child. Committee members will assist you through the process if required. It is recommended you download the forms for completion by your chosen professional and commence the process as soon as possible.
