GTCASA will again be holding Youth Workshops in 2010. The venue will be Flinders University, and many of the workshops will be presented by lecturers from the University.(Read: 3) PLEASE NOTE that these workshops will be held in the September/October school holidays and not in the April holidays as in previous years. Information will go out to schools towards the end of term 2, 2010. Where information about the Youth Workshops is not provided by the school, gifted students are encouraged to self nominate by contacting the Association early in term 3 2010. Summer camps for gifted students are being offered in January 2010 (20th - 22nd) at Immanuel College for students in years 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10.

The 11th Asia Pacific Conference on Giftedness will be held from July 29 - August 1 2010 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre located at Darling Harbour.(Read: 551) The theme of the meeting "Thinking Smart: Effective Partnerships for Talent Development" has already attracted the participation of world-renowned specialists at the cutting edge of gifted education. Australia has a history of raising the profile of gifted education through the promotion of professional knowledge and skills, policy development and advocacy, research and scholarship, and the dissemination of information. Hosting the Asia Pacific Conference in 2010 is part of that commitment. Children under 5 years old are not in a position to be assessed by a school teacher and therefore the Professional Nomination form may be completed by non-teaching professionals with experience and training in child development.
